Nurses at St. Louis Hospital (SLUH) have been negotiating for a fair contract for over nine months now and still have gotten no where! Nurses have communicated their concerns about patient care and staffing shortages with leadership at SSM Health several times but the situation has only gotten worse; the staffing shortage is indefensible at this point further putting patient care in jeopardy. SLUH needs to put patient care first and give nurses a STRONG union contract to keep nurses on the floor and off the picket line!

This Thursday, February 29th at 6PM, SLUH Nurses will be holding a candlelight vigil for patient safety outside of the old St. Louis Hospital. Can we count on you stand in solidarity with workers?

SLUH Nurses will NOT continue to be overworked, unprotected, and not given what they need to do their jobs. At JWJ, we like to say that solidarity means showing up and fighting for one another. I will be there shoulder to shoulder with nurses who risked their lives through the pandemic to take care of us.
