When it’s time to choose a city council candidate that truly represents the values here in Columbia, the thing we need to know more than anything else is: “Will they put the people and their needs first?”

This question is the most important to to us at MOJwJ. This question is why we are holding a community town hall to hear from candidates running for Columbia’s City Council in Ward 2 and where they stand on the issues that matter most to us: affordable housing, public infrastructure, and structural inequality. Will you join us on Saturday, March 16th at 2:30 at Parkade Elementary at 111 Parkade Blvd to help make sure Ward 2 is represented by someone who will put our needs first?

We are looking for candidates that will uphold Columbia’s Neighborhood Pledge. The Neighborhood Pledge is a commitment to ensure that elected officials uphold our priorities as a community: protecting and expanding housing, better public infrastructure, and addressing structural inequality. This is your chance to hear how the candidates will address these issues & see who will pledge to fight for the issues that matter to us! You don’t want to miss it.
