We are thrilled to announce that Missouri Jobs with Justice was selected to receive a $2 million gift from the Yield Giving Open Call!

Yield Giving announced that 361 organizations will receive a cumulative $640 million for their work in making positive change in their communities by reducing disparities in economic outcomes, education, health, and other critical issues.

Out of 6,353 applications, Missouri Jobs with Justice is one of 279 non-profit organizations to pass the rigorous peer review and interview process with top scores and receive a $2 million gift.

Since 1999, Missouri Jobs with Justice has led the fight for solidarity, workers’ rights, and economic justice in our state. Through grassroots organizing, public education, strategic campaigns, and coalition building rooted in our values and deep relationships,

“25 years ago workers, faith leaders, and community groups came together to pass a living wage ordinance in St Louis. Missouri Jobs with Justice was born out of that campaign and we’ve grown into a statewide multiracial movement,” said Caitlyn Adams, Executive Director of Missouri Jobs with Justice. “We believe that to reduce inequity in income, in the workplace, and in our health care we have to change the systems that create that inequity.”

This tremendous gift allows us to deepen our work and bring more Missourians into the fight for a state that works for all of us—not just the wealthy few.

“We’ve accomplished a lot,” continued Adams, “but the fight for equity for working people and people of color in Missouri is going to be long and hard. Organizing and coalition building, tied to campaigns that directly improve lives, is the only thing that’s made significant change here in Missouri. That’s why we’re committed to it and why we’re going to keep doing it.”
