Whatever It Takes – #StrikeFastFood with Stand Up KC

The fast food worker campaign for $15/hour and the right to form a union escalated to a new level today.

Over 150 cities had workers participating in the strikes, and workers engaged in Civil Disobedience taking arrests in many cities. Kansas City was one of those cities, where about 50 workers took arrest. Missouri Jobs with Justice members took to the streets with the striking workers. Check out coverage of the strikes and arrests in The Kansas City Star and The Pitch. See great photos of the event on our Facebook Photo Album, Stand Up KC’s, and Show Me 15’s.

Workers in St. Louis went on strike, but did not engage in rallies or civil disobedience out of respect for the ongoing events in Ferguson. St. Louis workers traveled to other cities to support nearby strikes in Nashville, Memphis, and other cities.
