ADVISORY: Thousands Demand Cigna Put Care Over Cost & Cover Critical Treatment
Health Care Advocates to Deliver 3,000 Petitions at Rally Outside Cigna Building
St. Louis, Missouri – TOMORROW, Thursday, November 10th, health care advocates will rally at Cigna Healthcare’s local office to deliver 3,000 petitions demanding it provide medically-necessary care to its policyholders. Despite Cigna promising its policyholders to work “Together, all the way,” Cigna suddenly stopped covering Springfield, Missouri resident Mark Hall’s ulcerative colitis treatment. For more than a year without this medication, Mark has faced daily chronic pain while he’s been stuck in the corporate appeals process. The rally is led by Missouri Jobs with Justice.
More than 3,000 Americans signed a petition demanding Cigna resolve Mark’s claim denial and immediately get him the care he needs to successfully treat his ulcerative colitis so he can live with less pain.
But Mark’s story isn’t unique. Every year, private insurance companies deny claims to tens of millions of people of every race and background.
