On Wednesday, May 13, Medicaid expansion supporters filled the hallways with chanting and singing, in protest of the Missouri Legislature’s refusal to pass Medicaid expansion, which would give 300,000 working Missourians health care.

After a session of in-district and in-Capitol pressure, the Missouri Medicaid Coalition came to Jefferson City frustrated with our elected officials and our broken democratic system in Missouri. Missourians are dying every day because of our elected officials’ desire to put politics over people and refuse to expand Medicaid.

Before the Medicaid expansion advocates left, they delivered 10,000 petitions from pro-Medicaid expansion Missourians to Speaker of the House John Diehl, House Majority Floor Leader Todd Richardson, Senate President Pro Tem Tom Dempsey and Senate Majority Floor Leader Ron Richards.
