Last month, KC Google Fiber temporary and contract workers won their union election to become the first official unit in the first tech union open to full-time, temporary, and contract workers. This month, these workers, now officially a part of Alphabet Workers Union-CWA, joined Missouri Jobs with Justice as a member organization!

Corporations like Google want a reputation for being a great place to work—but refuse to support their workers. Corporations rely on contract workers to work as full-time employees without the same benefits or pay.

These workers took on Google’s “union avoidance consultant,” aka corporate union buster, to divide them and break their union drive.

One of the first things these workers decided once they won their union drive was to join as Missouri jobs with Justice members. AWU joined our coalition to continue building our collective worker power for an upcoming contract fight and other fights ahead.

We welcome the Alphabet Workers Union to the Missouri Jobs with Justice membership!

Whether it’s at Google, in the parking lot of Starbucks, on the picket line, or in the capital – being a MO JwJ member means we show up for each other. Each member and member organization brings power to our work.
