We are thrilled to share fantastic news with you today! After over a year of hard work and months of waiting to be certified, we are proud to announce that our citizen-led petition, Healthy Families for Fair Wages (earned paid sick days $15 minimum wage) and our allies at Missourians for Constitutional Freedom (campaign to end Missouri’s abortion ban) have been certified by the Secretary of State. This means that come November, voters will have the power to make their voices heard. This includes making earned paid sick days and $15 minimum wage a reality for over 500,000 families across Missouri. It will be listed as Proposition A on the ballot. We will also be working to overturn Missouri’s cruel abortion ban. It will be listed as Amendment 3 on the ballot.
Your unwavering support and hard work has brought us this far, and for that, we can’t not express how grateful we are for leaders like you. But our work is not over yet – in fact- this is just the beginning. Now that we’re on the ballot, we need to ensure that every Missourian knows about this initiative and understands the importance of passing Proposition A and Amendment 3 for working-class people. That’s where leaders like you come in again, and your role is more crucial than ever.
Proposition A and Amendment 3 go hand in hand- workers need a say in the economy and over their own bodies, that’s why we’re joining forces with Missourians for Constitutional Freedom, the campaign to end Missouri’s abortion ban. When we canvass, we won’t just be talking about fair wages and sick leave- we’ll be advocating for reproductive freedom too.
Every door we knock and every conversation we have brings us one step closer to making sure that we have the ability to take care of our health and our families the way we see fit. We’ll be out knocking doors until November.
